Job Description

Part-time, 25 hours/week.  Ideal schedule would be Mon-Fri, 10am - 3pm.

This position will have multiple tasks & support responsibilities for Customer Service Representatives (CSRs) & Dispatchers, all designed to promote the growth and profitability of Epes Logistics Services, Inc.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Communication:

  • With Customers, Carriers, & all Epes Employees
    • By phone
    • By TMS & Software
    • By email

Order & Data Entry:

  • Accurately enter loads and orders into TMS and Rating Systems
    • Customer charges
    • Carrier costs
    • Shipping and receiving details
    • Create Bills of Lading

Data Collection:

  • Paperwork & Imaging from Software Systems
    • Bills of Lading
    • Carrier Invoices
    • PODs
    • Delivery Receipts
    • Weight & Inspection reports
    • Claims paperwork
    • Pulling reports

Freight bill auditing:

  • Compare Carrier Invoices to Carrier Quotes
    • Advise CSRs when Carrier Invoiced Costs do not match Carrier Quotes
    • Correct incorrect Carrier invoices
    • Update TMS & Software with adjusted Carrier costs

Scheduling Pickups:

  • Contacting Shippers, Customers, Carriers, and other involved parties
    • Issuing pickup requests & directives to Carriers & Customers
    • Calling Customers & Carriers to convey & gather information and give directions as needed
    • Confirming information with carrier and/or customer to ensure service requirements are met.

Tracking & Tracing:

  • Monitor Carrier pickups and deliveries to ensure timeliness
    • Alert CSRs & Customers when problems or delays arise
